Campos Takes Sportscar Win at Passion for Power

Driving the Martini-liveried Porsche 911 RSR and leading the pack out, former Formula Ford ace Keegan Campos pulled off a remarkable overall victory in the Castrol Pre-‘74 international Sports Prototypes and Pre-‘90 GT set, among the highlights of the weekend’s 19th Passion for Power race event.

The Porsche 917, Lola T70 and Ford GT40 clones are built locally by Bailey Cars in Boksburg, close to Peter du Toit’s popular and accessible circuit, and the lavishly rebuilt Kyalami venue which has returned to the international calendar. The Lola T212 of Swedish veteran Bernt Andersson - was a Steigenberger Supersports Cup regular in the early 1990s. The Lucky Strike Chevron B19 (with Honda S2000 engine for club races) of Colin Ellison meanwhile took fans back to six-time National champion Dave Charlton and the late John Hine’s victory in the 1971 Welkom 3 Hours Springbok Series round.
