A slim Group C field at the Hungaroring was led all the way by the Mercedes Benz C11 of Rui Aguas in today’s 45-minute first race of the weekend. The Tommy Dreelan/Aaron Scott Leyton House liveried Porsche 962 was initially second before tumbling down the order and eventually retiring, Hubert Haupt taking over second in his 962 before also retiring after
five laps.
At the end, the 962C of Michael Lecourt and Raymond Narc was the only other car on the same lap as the leader, Eric Rickenbacker’s Cheetah third a lap down on the lead duo but a lap clear of the rest.
