This Weekend: HSCC Season Opens at Donington Park

So where would we like to be this weekend? It’s been a long winter and after the recent Goodwood Members’ Meeting reminded us what quality historic racing is all about, it has to be a trip to Donington Park tomorrow (Saturday April 9th) for the HSCC’s first race meeting of 2017.

The Formula Ford 1600 race looks to really be echoing back to the monster grids of days gone by (who else remembers the days of FF1600 heats and finals at race meetings?) with 56-cars entered in the anniversary season of the formula. There will be two qualifying sessions with he quickest cars going straight into the championship race while the others race off for the final eight places on that grid - it should be great racing!

With Formula Ford 2000, the sports and GT cars of the Guards Trophy, the Derek Bell Trophy and Classic F3 grids combining as well as saloon racing in the guise of Road Sports and Historic Touring Cars plus clubmans racing - the East Midlands circuit is the place to be!
