Saturday 10th November saw the Vintage Sports-Car Club return to the Lake District for their annual Lakeland Trial. Over ninety Pre-war cars took to the eleven hillsides in glorious sunshine, set against a spectacular backdrop, to celebrate the 50th anniversary of this Trial.
The event was hotly contested, with the overall honours eventually being shared between three of the Club’s top Trials drivers, Donald Skelton, William McVicker and Eddie Williams, all in their beloved Austin 7's. Other award winners on the day were Malcolm Gordon winning the Roy Paterson award for the highest placed member with more the twenty five years continuous membership, and Rob Hubbard winning the Kirkstyle Plate for best performance in the long-wheel base class driving his 1924 Vauxhall.
The next event in the VSCC Trials Calendar is the Cotswold Trial, being held at Prescott Hill Climb on Saturday 17th November 2018.
