Sebring International Raceway and airport began life as a World War II B-17 Bomber training base. Hendricks Field as it was known was off the beaten path, tucked between central Florida's cattle ranches and orange groves. The HSR Classic 12 Hours Pistons and Props presented by Alan Jay Automotive recalls the early days of racing here at Sebring. So it is only appropriate that we pay homage to the race tracks roots, a retired training base now a small municipal airport. Friday afternoon fans and competitors were thrilled by the arrival of a fleet of trainers and other fun airplanes.
