- 25 Jan 2018
The launch of The Vintage Sports Car Club 2018 events calendar saw the annual running of the long established Measham Night Rally take place on Saturday 20th and Sunday 21st January in Leicestershire. Almost fifty VSCC Members and their pre-1939 motor cars set out to test the drivers fortitude, navigational prowess and car strength posed by the over-night Rally.
This year the prize winners included:
• The Jeddere Fisher Trophy - John Abel and Andy Pullan (1937 Lagonda LG 45)
• The Measham Trophy - John Potter and David Kirkham (1927 Alvis 12/50)
• The Dames Longworth Trophy - Robert Renshaw and Liz Renshaw (1932 Austin Seven)
The VSCC’s Andrew Tarring said “We were blessed with classic Measham weather; fog, ice and snow“ and that he was “delighted with the response from both Competitors and Marshals and that the hard work of Jenny Lees, Andrew Duerden and Martin Jelley had culminated in a great Measham Rally".
The club will be back in action on Sunday 28th January for the New Year’s Driving Tests at The Brooklands Museum in Surrey.
