For almost 100 years the 24 Hours of Le Mans has written the history of motor sport - and that of the motor car - with the race being held for the first time in 1923. The tenth running of Le Mans Classic in 2020 will take visitors through the decades with a broad swathe of cars from the history of the great race in action.

The cars classified by period make up six distinct grids and each one takes part in three races between 16:00 on Saturday and 16:00 on Sunday - 24 hours. The times of the three heats (one run at night for each grid) are added up and give the overall classification. Another classification in keeping with pure Le Mans tradition is calculated on an Index based on age and cubic capacity. The six cars with the same number, one per grid, make up a team and are also classified as such.

Two additional categories will again be in action, the hugely popular Group C (1982-1993) cars and the Endurance Racing Legends (1990-2010).

Le Mans Classic 2020 will once again be the opportunity to enjoy the long history of Le Mans with 700 racing cars on track, more than 8,500 vintage club cars, numerous attractions, an auction and so much more. And, for the first time, the paddocks and the village will be open from Thursday afternoon.
