Sasco Sports International / American Challenge Kicks off The Mitty Weekend Action
Chet Wittel claimed top honors in the Sasco Sports International American Challenge in his 1970 Datsun 240z. Wittel took the checkered flag in the shortened event shortly after taking the lead from Lawrence Cooper who had the early lead in his '71 Datsun 240z. The race was checkered after half distance because of a car stopped on course in an unsafe area. Andre Herke claimed the final podium position in his '68 BMW 2002.
Other class winners included a victory in the Porsche Class went to John Deford in his 1970 Porsche 914/6. The American class win was claimed by Dave Roberts in his '56 Corvette.
