Heacock Classic, a leader in the collector vehicle insurance business, announced today that their 2019 Amelia Island Concours d’Elegance booth will feature Jack May and his Ferrari Dino 246GTS. Visitors to the booth, located between fairway #10 & 18 near the pond, will have the opportunity to meet Jack and receive a signed poster between the hours of 9am and 12pm on Saturday March 9th.
Jack and his Dino were immortalized in racing history in 1975 when he set the record time from New York City to Los Angeles during the Cannonball Baker Sea-to-Shining-Sea Memorial Trophy Dash. Jack later received the Maurice G. Bauer Trophy for his Cannonball win at the 2016 Amelia Island Concours d’Elegance commemorating this victory.
“We at Heacock Classic Insurance are proud to feature Jack’s Dino at our booth at this year’s Amelia Island Concours d’Elegance, and we’re even more proud to insure it,” said Pete Doriguzzi, Vice President Heacock Classic. “This is because Jack and the Dino represent the racing spirit and collector car lifestyle that we encourage for each Heacock Classic policyholder”
“Jack is one of those rare people that you cannot help but like the moment you meet him,” said Bill Warner, Founder and Chairman of the Amelia Island Concours d’Elegance Foundation. “He literally exudes enthusiasm and has a very infectious laugh. Time with Jack is time well spent. I feel blessed to have him as a friend. And I will go to the grave ruing the fact that he beat me soundly in the 1975 Cannonball Sea-to-Shining Sea Memorial Trophy Dash.”
The 24th annual Amelia Island Concours d'Elegance is scheduled for March 7-10, 2019 and will draw over 300 rare, unusual and historically-significant vehicles from collections around the world to The Golf Club of Amelia Island and The Ritz-Carlton, Amelia Island. This year’s event will also be live streamed for the first time ever, as presented by HistoricRacingNews.com in association with Heacock Classic, providing unprecedented insight into the award-winning event.
