With the track wet early on, it was a day of practice sessions, demonstrations and two races at the end, for the one-litre Formula Three cars who contested the Derek Bell Trophy and the one-hour Gerry Marshall Trophy race that drew the day's action to a close. A drying track in practice for the saloons contesting the Gerry Marshall race meant the grid oder was a bit shuffled, then policeman Mark Blunder shook the order up by jumping the start!
