This week’s Amelia Island Concours d’Elegance has published guidance to visitors with the current world-wide issue regarding the COVID 19 (Coronavirus) outbreak outlining their preparations and also advice on attending the Florida event. Sadly, we fear this could just be the first in many such stories we run as already we are seeing major sporting events cancelled or rearranged, and that may very likely filter right down to any motorsport event if the growth of the virus is not contained.
Full Amelia Island Concours d’Elegenace Statement:
As we monitor the COVID-19 outbreak, normal preparations are underway for the 25th Amelia Island Concours d'Elegance to be held March 5-8, 2020 at the Ritz-Carlton, Amelia Island and The Golf Club of Amelia Island.
The health and safety of our event participants remains our top priority. We are carefully working with local authorities and monitoring CDC advisories as well as the World Health Organization (WHO) for up to date information. Before traveling to the event, we recommend that you stay informed of any information your local health agencies may make available.
To promote the health and safety of participants the following proactive steps are being taken to maintain a safe and healthy environment:
We are adding additional hand sanitizer stations at all entrances, food courts and selected areas throughout the event.
We ask that anyone showing flu-like symptoms stay home and get rest rather than attending the events of the weekend.
